Description
Objective: Students will construct a cultural and political-geographic map of the United States, in order to better understand the physical landscape and archaeological sites discussed during the course. Directions: Use white paper or digital. Trace or draw the United States, with attention to state boundaries, prominent rivers and mountain ranges. Using print, identify the items below. Each map should have a key.I would prefer to use the digital version, it’s a little more relaxed. If you want to draw it by hand that’s fine too. I’ve posted a few examples. There are also some details in the attachment.

Grading: Students will be graded at least one point per identification, alongside neatness, clarity,
organization and effort. Students are encouraged to use color [i.e. blue] to identify water features, and
symbols for mountains [^^, brown] and locales [, , name]. Consider the organization of the map – do
some areas require more space? Possibly an inset map is required for the Chesapeake or New England.
