Kerns et al. has talked about the anxiety disorders in youth and the issues which are arising in individuals due to the same. The author has conducted quantitative research to understand the impact made by anxiety disorders. One of the strengths of this research is that author has conducted quantitative research and includes 59 participants which are considered to be the right sample size for the research. It has also been noticed that the author has included individuals with ASD and that gives a better idea about the anxiety disorder. In research, it was seen that an individual youth having issues related to ASD and anxiety displays more chances of self-harming and falling into depression. Individuals who are suffering from ASD are not having much vulnerability as compared with individuals having anxiety.

This research is quite important as it shows that anxiety issue is quite dangerous as there is the development of self-harming tendency. While researching the participant Kerns et al. found out that the individuals who were having ASD issues were not linked to self-harm. One limitation in this study is that there is no research done regarding why anxiety is harmful. It should have also included the amount of anxiety level in an individual. This study shows that anxiety issue is quite dangerous and this issue should be treated as soon as possible because self-harm tendency adds risk to individual well-being.

Bjaastad et al. on Competence and Adherence Scale for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Authors have used quantitative research to understand the impact. It can be said that research is done in the right direction as it includes the 181 videotapes from the treatment session. It has been seen that videotapes provide an important opportunity to understand things in a better way. This research includes a perfect range of sample size and that is enough for making a prediction and getting the desired result as well. This research is quite important because it has helped in understanding the impact made by CBT. One of the major limitations of this study is that it includes a limited age group. It should be more flexible and a bigger age group interval should have been included in this research.

Peterman, J. S., Carper, M. M., & Kendall, P. C. (2015). Anxiety disorders and comorbid sleep problems in school-aged youth: review and future research directions. Child Psychiatry & Human Development, 46(3), 376-392.

One of the things which can be termed as the highlighted outcome is that there is a proper reduction in the sleeping timetables of an individual. But one weakness that has been seen is that the limited research has been done by authors as there is further scope to understand the major impact of anxiety. However, the author has opened the room for further research by pointing out some major recommendations which can be important as well. Research in this article has talked about affect regulation and also pointed out the neurological regions which can have a major impact on the sleeping schedule of an individual. This research also includes specific cognitive-behavioral treatments. It presents an opportunity to learn about the major complications which can be there as well. But overall this research is quite helpful as it proves that there is a major disturbance in an individual schedule due to issues of anxiety.
