E-Commerce Initiative At The Gift Shop: Work Plan, Team Development Plan, And More

Project 1

The IT support officer will be able to provide an understanding on the resources required to update the organization’s website and select an appropriate platform for e-commerce activities respectively.

5. Three codes of conduct that would be applicable are: maintaining privacy and confidentiality, complying with WHS practices and being punctual. This is because customers prefer online services which are prompt, safe and keep their data secure. The standards of performance which would be applicable are: customer service standards, team interaction and cost minimization. This will ensure that all e-commerce services are well coordinated and cost effective.

6. Three legislative acts which are applicable to this project are: the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Fair Work Act 2009, and Privacy Act 2008. Three company policies which are applicable to this project are: customer relationship management policy, induction and training policy and data protection and privacy policy.

7. The General Retail Industry Award is applicable for this project and organization.

The following script can be used by the Store Manager, during the role play meeting with the CEO: “Good morning Sir/Ma’am, as discussed, I am here today to present the work plan based on which we will establish our e-commerce initiative successfully. I understand that this initiative has to be undertaken with respect to issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic and new customer preferences towards digitalization. As per the work plan, I have allocated work and resources to each of the departments under me so as to ensure that the company page is updated with shipping, payment and product details. This allocation is efficient and will help with the cash flow by ensuring that customers are able to conveniently access and use the company’s e-commerce platform – resulting in greater purchases and sales. The standards of performance which would be applicable are: customer service standards, team interaction and cost minimization. This will ensure that all e-commerce services are well coordinated and cost effective. I request you to provide me your valuable feedback and approval for the same.”

You are expected to not just comply with your KPIs but also basic codes of conduct and performance at the workplace. As per the company’s disciplinary policy, I will issue you two warning meetings followed by your termination if you do not comply with your KPI. For the next month, you are required to be punctual, complete a refresher training and also achieve 80% of your target. Resources are available from your manager in case you need additional support. Dear

Termination of your employment

I am writing to you about the termination of your employment with The Gift Shop.

On 1st of March, 2022 you met with your Manager. In that meeting, you were advised that you were unable to comply with your KPIs, roles and responsibilities.

You were also issued with a formal first warning letter on 1st of March, 2022.

On 1st of April 2022 you had a second meeting with your Manager and you were advised that your performance and conduct had not improved to the level required.

You were issued with a second warning letter on15th April, 20220. This letter indicated that your employment may be terminated if your inability to be punctual and comply with your KPIs did not improve by 1st of May, 2022.

I consider that your performance and conduct is still unsatisfactory and have decided to terminate your employment for the following reasons:

·         Non-compliance to KPIs of meeting 80% of sales revenue

·         Lack of punctuality, lack of discussing with your manager on shift timing changes and lack of attending the refresher training course.

Based on your length of service, your notice period is from 1st of May to the 15th of May, 2022.

Therefore, your employment will end on 15th of May, 2022.

You will also be paid your accrued entitlements and any outstanding pay, upto and including your last day of employment. This includes the balance of anytime off instead of overtime accrued but not yet taken (paid at the overtime rate applicable when the overtime was worked), and superannuation.

If you have been paid annual leave in advance, any amount of annual leave still owing will be deducted from your final pay.

You may seek information about minimum terms and conditions of employment from the Fair Work Ombudsman. If you wish to contactthemyoucancall131394 or visit their website at www.fairwork.gov.au.

Some termination payments may give rise to waiting periods for any applicable Centrelink payments. If you need to lodge a claim for payment you should contact Centrelink immediately to find out if there is a waiting period.

Yours sincerely,

The Gift Shop
