The study will discuss about the use of fibre broadband and fibre leased line connection , there usage and a comparison between these two connectivity. The study will highlight the operating system, technology used, analyse the entire system and also give recommendation accordingly. The use of technology has become an important in the daily human life. The technology that is connecting people are one of the most important source of technology. The connections that are used by the human being to get connected to each other are broadband, fibre leased line and many more (Cheng et al 2015). However the study will only discuss about the fibre broadband and fibre leased line technology and compare them with respect to their performance and connectivity criteria.

The fibre broadband and fibre leased line both provide internet access to the users at a fixed subscription cost. The user has to pay a certain amount to access the network and use the internet. The fibre leased lineis one of the dedicated connection between the premise and local exchange. A technology that uses glass to transmit data called fibre optic technology. The fibre optic cable consists of a bundle of glass threads among which each is capable of transmitting messages into light waves. They have greater bandwidth than metal cables.

The term fibre broadband defines the network that is optical fibre and carry a communication sign from a particular operator to home. The technology has been found to be more robust and trustworthy than any other technology.

Fibre broadband connection: it is a high capacity network that forms the basis of the gigabit society. It is a large range of technology which has different technical capacities that are capable of providing a high speed connection. They target for connecting homes, business and the endpoints in the society. The present fibre technology tends to provide a two way communication that includes uploading and downloading the data. They have very less scope for video calls or high internet speed tasks.

As the technology can provide a two way transmission speed of uploading and downloading the data they stretch a limit to their performance and speed.. Thus the connection is more efficient than the copper wire connection. However, once again this is a multi -user connection and thus the connection gets interrupted while using and the users might face a problem while using this technology. The fibre broadband power line is an efficient and effective connection that can be used in a medium or low voltage power (El Halabi et al. 2014). They have great potential for future expansion and success as they are available everywhere. However at low populated areas the technology is economically unfriendly. That means that the users might have to pay a high cost price for using this technology in remote or rural areas where the user’s rate is very low for this connection.

Fibre Broadband Connection

Fibre leased line connection: the fibre leased line connection are fit to connect the users at an adverse location if they are connected, they can transfer data, voice, data, video. The ordinary lines are not very efficient and have lots of disadvantages like limited range of services. The managed fibre leased line connection are much more efficient. They have an integrated and fully managed network that where the service provider can offer a huge range of service. The speech circuits are provided in this network. The dedicated long and local distance connection with a high speed can be offered to the user. The long distance leased circuit can be provided such that the circuit can be transferred automatically to another circuit for the similar subscriber (Azodolmolky, Wieder and Yahyapour 2013).

Thus the connectivity and the offerings given from this fibre leased line network is much more efficient and promising for the users. Thus the users can use this technology.

Both the connection fibre broadband and fibre leased line connection intends to provide an internet connection to the user. However the pattern of the different technology is different. The reasons can be justifies and analysed in the following paragraphs. The study will discuss in details about the importance of the technology and they benefit the organization and what are the impact of the connections to the users.

Leased Line: this is a symmetrical connection that is connecting the business directly using the fibre cable lines and they are considered to be the pinnacle of the internet connection. There are options for wireless leased lines (Lee, Park and Hwang 2015). They are similar to the tradition fibre leased lineconnection however, they save the cost of construction and engineering.

Cost consideration: when it comes to cost consideration then it has to be remembered that the intention for both the technology is to provide internet connection but the cost of the leased lien is more than the broad band connection. The reason for such high expense for this technology is the speed that is promised to be provided is exactly the same and has very rare fluctuation. There is very less amount of disturbances in the connection. The speed is not affected even when the data usage is extremely high. The Ethernet connection assures that the uploading and downloading connection is same (Zickuhr and Smith 2013).  Thus the high price for this connection is justifies with the level of service and assurance they provide to the users.

Fibre Leased Line Connection

Location: the cost of the fibre leased lineconnection depends on the distance between the premises of the provider to the premise of the user. The distance determines the cost and thus it might

look a bit more costly than the fibre broadbandconnection. However the service that they provide are best suited for business purpose where the speed accuracy and promising connectivity is highly demanded.

Providers: this has a simple logic behind the theory that the higher the service providers the lower is the cost. At the same time the lower is the amount f service provider the higher is the price. This means that regions that has less service providers like in the rural areas will be costing high price for the connection and vice-versa (Bascand 2013).

Fibre broadband: the fibre broadbandconnection assures a super -fast speed of internet. That will accommodate to the daily requirement for internet. However the speed that they promise might not remain same on a daily basis. The connection is on high demand and thus they have a scope for higher disturbance in the connection (Coroama, and Hilty 2014). This type of connections are risky for business purpose as the speed might drop at any pint of time.

Cost: the cost of the fibre broad band connection is comparatively low than the fibre leased line connection. However the speed and service they provide is very poor in comparison to the fibre leased line connection. The fibre broadband connection might drop its speed during the peak time or stop which will affect the business organization in an adverse way. The business that runs on internet supply or service will face a huge problem if they are using this technology.

Location: the distance is not a factor for this connection. They are connected to places that might be far away from the providers premise. However, the strength of the network or the connectivity assurance is not guaranteed in this system.

User’s quantity: the number of users determines the type of connection they will be requiring. If the number of users is more than twenty people then the fibre leased line is a better option to use. It would also improve the user experience and productivity on this network. However the organizations have more than twenty users in general and thus they must be using the fibre leased line connection for proper connectivity (Aijaz, Aghvami and Amani 2013).

Comparison of Fibre Broadband and Fibre Leased Line Connection

Usage: the users who uses the connection for general reporting, mailing purpose they can use the fibre broadband connection as they require very less amount of internet connection. However if the sender is using the connection to send or receive large amount of information or data then they must use the fibre leased line connection else they might not get the connectivity (Duvey, Goyal and Hemrajani 2013).

Importance: the importance of the connection is a huge factor determining the choice for the connection. The companies that requires high speed data, along with very less chances for interruption must opt the fibre leased line connection. In this type of connection the scope for interruption is very less and the chances for disturbance is also very less. However of the business does not require much data and can adjust with a low speed technology then they can use the fibre broadband connection (FCMI and Hadi 2013). The organization that uses the internet only to send mails and chat with the customers can use the fibre broadband connection as it is of low cost. 

Thus after a severe and critical analysis of both the technology it can be concluded that the leased lien connection is for the users who have a motivation to use a professional and sincere connection for their organization. The fibre leased line connection is a highly promising connection that provides an uninterrupted connection and best services to the users of this connection. Thus this network can be used by the organizations who are highly dependent on the internet connection for the running of the organization (Haller and Lyons 2015).

However at the same time, if the organization are looking for a connection that is cheap and their requirement for the connection is moderate then they can surely opt for the fibre broadband connection. This connection is providing a moderate speed and low cost service. The connection might get interrupted at times but it is harmless till the user is unaffected by this issue.

Cost: the fibre broadband connection is offered at a fixed cost irrespective of the area or work place. However, the fibre leased line connection is cost depending on the business location and few other factors. The cost for fibre leased line is typically determined by the distance between the server who is providing the network and the location of the company (Botelho et al. 2014). Thus it can be said that the fibre leased line connection is more costly than the fibre broadband connection. Therefore when a client will be selecting a connection they might prefer the fibre broadband connection if the selection comes with respect to cost of the connection.

Conclusion

Availability: the fibre connection are generally shared with other subscribers which means that sharing of the bandwidth with others can result to a decrease in the performance standard. On the other side the fibre leased line service is a dedicated set up that serves only the server and no one else. Thus it cannot be shared with any other user and hence the performance remains unchanged for this system. Hence if the selection comes with preference to performance of the connection then the client would select the leased lien connection as they do not share the connection with any other resources and remain limited to the client company only, thus giving a higher standard of performance.

Capacity of downloading and uploading: the fibre broadband service offers asymmetric performance which means that they a have a high capacity of downloading data but they have a low capacity to upload data. On the other side the fibre leased line service is a symmetrical performance where both the uploading and the downloading capacity is equal. However, if the service can be customized and the design of this connectivity can be made asymmetric.

Service level agreements: the network and the connectivity might be hampered on some working day for both the connection. However, the fibre broadband connection sis more than one client or user at a time and thus there are high chances for damage for this technology. On the other hand, the leased lien connection is being used by only one client thus when they are being used there is very chance for this connection to get damaged (Haller and Lyons 2015). However, when it comes to providing service to the customer, the customers of the fibre broadband connection faces a lot of issues as they are paying less hence their service dates are delayed and the issues are resolved after a time gap of three to four days. The customers of the fibre leased line connection are served in a shorter period of time as they are being charged high amount for thee service. The time period taken by the leased lien service centre might be three to four hours.

Thus it can be concluded with this though that the leased connection is a private connection and is active constantly. The rent for this connection is paid annually thus they serve their clients with full dedication. The service is private and dedicated to the clients they do not have any competition with the bandwidth like the fibre broadband connection. The connection is also termed as point to point connection, private circuit that has the only intention to provide the best connection to the user (Briglauer and Gugler 2013). They also have assured internet speed that has a better performance strategy and also remains uninterrupted while processing the connection or using it.

  • They will receive a high performance speed. The business that requires a high internet connection for communication or processing of data will be highly benefitted from this connection.
  • The organization that uses multiple connections at the same time will be benefitted from this connection. As this a private connection and only the people in the organization will be using this there will not be any scope for interruption in the connection. While if the organization were using the broad band connection then there would have been higher chances for interruption and disturbance in the connection that would have hampered the working of the organization.
  • The high speed and uninterrupted speed of internet will help the organization to transfer unlimited data and the organization. The organization will have sufficient flow of data with the help of this technology.
  • The service providers are highly dedicated to the organization as they are using only this network that is allotted to them and no one else thus the service is also of a premium standard in comparison to the fibre broadband connection.
  • Thus it can be said that the connection is highly dedicated to the customer and has a high standard of service whereas the fibre broadband connection is a weak and slow process connection that has a very poor customer service strategy.

Conclusion :

Thus it can be concluded that the technologies that has been discussed in the study are both related to sharing of data. The internet connection that the technologies promise an efficient provision of internet, however there are few issues related to both the technology that has been mention in the study. The fibre broadband connection that is comparatively of a lower cost has a disadvantage that the connection is interrupted often and thus the user might get disturbed working with this connection. Thus it can said that the use of fibre that gives a high speed of internet between the two different location and such type of connections exist between the service provider and the business.

The fibre broadband technology can be recommended to be more prone to their connectivity and dedication to the clients. They must improve their client service standards. It is seen that the connection often neglects the issues faced by the users or rather solves them after a longer period of time. They are typically used bu users who do not require an efficient supply of internet connection. They are used only for sending mails and messages whenever required. They also provide poor connectivity that has to be mended. They can improve their low cost range to a medium cost and improve their drawbacks and provide a standard level of connectivity to the users. It is expected that if the organization is using this technique then they will prosper in their business in the market. At the same time the fibre leased lineconnection might reduce their price so that the users who cannot afford to purchase this technology will be able to purchase it and use it.  Thus it can be concluded with this thought point that the fibre broadband connection is beneficial to the internet user who are highly dependent in the usage of continuous internet flow. The company that uses internet only to send mails can be using the broadband connection.

The companies that are willing to use the technology in an efficient and regular manner must make the selection in a proper manner. The technology that suits the operating system of the organization will be selected by the organization. The organization that requires higher range of data must use the fibre leased line technology and the organization that requires the normal speed of the internet they can use the fibre broadband connection. At the same time the companies scan also make few changes in their price and speed. The fibre broadband connection can improve their speed and on the other side the fibre leased line can reduce their cost with the similar efficient that will benefit the users.
