I have gained knowledge on the organizational communication skills that helped me in improving my communication skills in both personal and professional lives. The organizational communication skills helps me to understand the behavior pattern in between an organization. All these learning methods from this course helps me to develop my communication skills in the organization (Bisel, Barge, Dougherty, Lucas, & Tracy, 2014). I have seen that if communication gap is present in between the members of the organization then the company faces many problems in the market. This communication issues mainly takes place in the international organization this is because due to the present of different cultural people in the company. For this reason organization communication skills should be helpful for me to understand the behavior of the people in an organization and with this skills I can improve myself in the future. This course gives me an idea that in an organization communication is the main factor that makes the growth of the firm in the market. Since lack of proper communication can create a huge losses to the company as well the employees also faces many problem due to such problem. The communication issues in between the employee mainly arises due to lack of proper communication skills and this occur because the manager could not listen properly to their team. For this reason I have recommended that meeting should be arranged once in every month so that the employee can share their ideas and opinions and thus the communication barriers can reduces.

Along with this, I have also suggested that maintaining a friendly relationship with the employees the communication pattern in an organization should be improved. I have learned that maintaining a good relationship with the employees the communication gap will be reduced and the worker will eagerly tell me their problems without any hesitation (Tracy, & Donovan, 2018). Apart from this, I have also gained knowledge about the fact that if a good behavior is maintained in an organization then everyone will praise me and along with this my team does not face any hesitation while interacting with me. They can share their thought and opinion easily with me and this will be helpful for me as well as the organization also gets benefited by this strategy. This course helps me to understand the communication behavior in an organization and how it causes the problem in the organization and knowing all this I should improve my communication skills towards an employee so thus the problem discussed in the course should be reduced. Apart from this, I have also seen that most of the people possess fear while interacting with a person in the organization (Karanges, Johnston, Beatson, & Lings, 2015). This fear has arisen due to the lack of commutation or by hesitation. According to my opinion, the most common cause of arising this hesitation is the lack of confidence and the person think that nobody will pay attention to him while he is interacting and for this reason, the person does not interact properly with the manager as well as the team member of his group.

Communication barriers and how to overcome them

For this reason, proper conservation should be followed by the employee with the organization so that the hesitation of the concerned person gets decreases. From this course, I have gained a knowledge about how to overcome this type of situation in an organization. For putting my thoughts in front of the manager I should make a proper idea of saying the right thing so that the manager gets interested for interacting with me and thus my hesitation while talking to others will decreases (van Osch, Steinfield, & Balogh, 2015). Along with this, I have seen that non-verbal communication is quite helpful for a person to decrease any communication issue in an organization. This type of communication will increase the confidence among the person working in the organization and they can share their thoughts and opinions easily with their team members and also put forwarded their ideas in front of the manager too. Thus the fear and nervousness while talking to the other people will be decreased not only in the professional life as well as in the personal life too. Another strategy that I have learned from the course that maintaining proper eye contact with the employee in the organization also decreases the fear and anxiety (Stephens, 2017). I have seen that most of the people possess fear while interacting with their superior in the organization. This must be a gesture of respect to some people but other than that all other employees possess fear while interacting with their head. For diminishing this fear the manager should arrange a meeting where all of the team members have to interact and share their ideas in front of everyone and this is the method by which this anxiety should decrease.

On the basis of this course, I have gained that the communication pattern of a single person in an organization is different towards their team members and on their superiors (Salem, & Timmerman, 2017). They maintained a good relationship towards their superior while this person does not listen to their employee properly for any purposes. On the other hand in case of international company varieties of employees are present belonging to different cultures. Thus a communication barrier will arise from interacting with this type of people in the company. Their language, the ascent is different from that of the other employee and this cause a problem while interacting with the other workers as no one can understand their ascent properly and the leader also faces problem while interacting with them. Due to this not only the cross-culture people faces problem as well as the organization also faces many problems with this issue (Garner et al., 2016). To diminish such communication gap the company should hire a person who can understand the ascent of the cross-cultural people and the manager of the company should arrange the meeting once in a month so that every person can interact easily with each other. On the basis of my point of view, communication is defined as the chain from which an organization can move from top to bottom or lack of proper communication also ruin the company too.

Strategies to improve communication in an organization

Mainly in an organization, interpersonal communication takes which means the exchange of information and transmission between two peoples (Winkler, & Zerfass, 2016). Although in an organizational communication the exchange of transmission and information takes place throughout the hierarchy level. For maintaining a proper interaction with the leader or manager the employees should have to listen carefully to their team leader so that they can fulfill the customer needs as well the company gets also benefited. Though communication is not a very easy process in an organization because different people have different opinions and sometimes thus conflicts arise in between the workers. I have seen that various types of communication method that are used in an organization (Alvarez, Bauer, & Eger, 2015). They are face to face communication method, communication through mail or fax, by telephone etc. Nowadays many organization have used modern technology to communicate with the employees in their organization (Deetz, & Eger, 2014). For such purposes, they made a group in the social media where everyone can share their thoughts and opinions for the better growth of the firm. Apart from this e-mails or linked internal communication system is also used for communication purposes. With the help of such innovative method of communication, the organization gets benefitted and their understanding between the employees hence increases.

This type of communication is referred to as the internal communication method that mainly takes place between the employees in the organization (Jiang, & Men, 2017). Along with this, I have also gained a knowledge of the external organizational communication. An external organization communication means the communication between the organization and those outside the organization and this may include customers, suppliers, distributors etc.  In case of any e-commerce industry their main motive is to convince the customer for buying their product and thus the organization employees have to maintain a good communication with them so thus the consumer gets attracted by the product and hence the company growth increases. Furthermore, I have seen that a proper communication behavior in an organization can motivate the employees to work better for the organization as well the misunderstanding level in between them also decreases (Sotirin, 2014). Along with this, the organization has to encourage the ideas, opinions, and suggestions of the workers regarding the product so thus the conflict between the superior level and the inferior level should decrease. Moreover, these organization communication skills help in growing my knowledge about how to behave with the employee in the organization.

Interpersonal communication in an organization

This information will be helpful to me in improving my knowledge of communication skills and by this, I can achieve my career goals in the future. With the help of this course, I also gained knowledge on how to interact with another person apart from any organization. Yes, I have evaluated the change in my think levels regarding the use of the communication processes while interacting with other people in different situations.  I will achieve my career goals with the effective use of the communication skills in an organization.  Although I have learned that proper communication skills must be present in an organization so that the company does not face any problem and their business growth also increases in the market. The information that I have achieved from the lecture helps me to increase my organization communication skills and all this idea helps me to achieve my goals in the future.  Moreover, the organizational communication concept will help in enhancing performance in my future jobs.
