Conclusion

The review of the progress of the event reflects its success as of now. It can be stated on the basis of the fact that all the stages for planning the event have been completed within the set period.

On the part of Commonwealth Bank, decision was taken for motivating, encouraging and acknowledges the dedication and hard work of the employees. It is for the purpose of addressing this objective of the organization, an end of year dinner event was organized by the organization.

As an instance, Senator Smith Jones was chosen as the first preference as the chief guest for the event, who could be availed for the event. Conclusion

On the basis of the review of the event, it can be considered to be a success. It was effective in meeting the set objectives within the stipulated time and resources.

This entire unit has been a major learning lesson on my part. There are various associated with not just the area of study but academic in large regarding which I became aware in the process of completion of this unit.

The major learning on completion of this unit was the awareness and knowledge that I gathered regarding organizing an event. I realized the fact that for organizing a successful event it is not just important to per-plan but it is also needed to be well-prepared for unexpected. I realized of the fact that contingency plan in an integral part for the success of an event. In regards to the academic progress, I gained secondary research skills. I turned out to be an integral academic progress on my part as it helped me in collecting needed and authentic data for the completion of any assignment. On gaining the skill of academic research, it also turned out to be helpful for me in gathering and identifying authentic sources that can be relied and used in the completion of an assignment.

On the part of the lecturer, constant emphasis has been given on referencing the work, wherein piece of other writers have been used. In this regards, I gained the knowledge regarding the significance of referencing the work and realized the fact that it helps in maintaining the authenticity of the work. It also helps in avoiding the risk of plagiarism. I also gained knowledge about the different styles of referencing which also a major academic progress on my part.

As a student, I had major issues with time management. However, with the process of completion of the assessments under this unit, I gained the skills needed for effectively distributing the work allocated in accordance to the stipulated time (Travers et al., 2015). Thus the skills associated with the ways in which works can be distributed and managed within a given time frame has also been gathered on my part which was also a major academic as well as personal progress.

In certain cases, the process of submitting the work through electronic submission seemed to be complex on my part. However, in the process of completion of the assignments under this unit and its submission, I gained clarity of the ways in which assignments can be successfully submitted electronically.

On the part of some, I have been previous asked through their comments to focus on the effective use of academic language. It is due to the fact that, as compared to other forms of writing, the language used in academic writing is different. In the process of completion of the assignments under this unit, I not only honed the skills of academic writing but also acquired the skills needed for professional writing. I particularly gathered this skill in the process of completion of the present assignment.

However, on the basis of the feedbacks from my fellow classmates and lecturers I realized the fact that there are certain aspects with my academic skills which are needed to be further improved. One of the mentionable aspects which are needed to be further improved is my communication skills. It has been frequently observed on the part of my peers and lecturers that I lack the skills needed to conduct effective communication that is an integral aspect in academics. In order to develop and imbibe this skill would emphasize on participating in debates, soft skills development program and seminars (Pagano & Roselle, 2009). Furthermore, I would take the initiative to participate in group discussion. It is with the help of these initiatives I would be able to successfully develop and imbibe the needed communication skill in me. I instances, I have also noticed that I tend to struggle with group work and associated activities. In order to develop this skill I would emphasize on developing active listening skills, participate in seminars on conflict resolution simulation, develop skills of goals setting.

Conclusion

It is with the help of undertaking the above mentioned activities I would be able to develop the skills needed for enhancing the areas in which I am still lagging behind. The overall impact of undertaking such initiatives would be enhanced academic practice on my part that would turn out to be beneficial for me in the future, as a professional.
