My learning from this experience is that developing a project within a team requires team members to collaborate effectively. The major requirement for maintenance of team members in a project team is to avoid conflicts among the members.

The risks encountered were decision making problem and conflicts among team members. The decision making problem occurred due to untimely reporting of project status and issues to the project manager. The conflict among team members occurred due to members having different perceptions and viewpoints.

My responses for these problems were that the untimely project reporting could have been solved if we were attentive towards the project. The other problem was due to members having different perceptions however, it could have been solved if the different perceptions were used effectively. This approach was chosen because these two problems are major problems and this can affect development of project.

The insights that I will take for future are that to collaborate effectively and respecting different people’s perceptions and viewpoints.

The positive key team dynamic was getting best out of individual team members and negative key dynamics was demonization of few team members. These team dynamics impacted my team’s performance in a way that it helped to improve performances of an individual team member. These team dynamics were managed through respecting viewpoints and perceptions of different team members. The project manager taken viewpoints and opinions of every individual in the project team and evaluate them to develop a single objective for the whole team.

The aspect that worked well was the clear role, responsibilities and leadership among team members. The roles and responsibilities of each and every team member were clear. All the team members managed and achieved their responsibilities effectively and efficiently. The team members contributed effectively towards the development of the project.

Effective Team Member Dynamics

The aspect that did not worked well was good decision making process of the team project. The team members were from different backgrounds having different personalities and behavior that contributed to complex decision making process. It took time for team members to interact and understand each other viewpoints and perceptions.

The decision making process event in the chosen area that is project management concepts leads to significant learning for future project team management. The decision making process event shows that the project management concept is eventually dependent on decision making process. The decision making process event helps to understand how to make decisions effectively including contribution of opinions from different team members. The decision making process should not be entirely of an individual whether it is a project manager or a staff in a team project. The learning that it gives is better management of a project team without any conflicts and issues.

I think the decision making process event came in the project team because every individual in the team come from different backgrounds. The team members have different behaviors, personalities, understanding and knowledge that pose a challenge for the project team. The different understandings often contribute towards major conflicts however in this project team it was minor. The event of decision making process occurred due to team members not collaborating effectively and interacting properly. The interaction is necessary for any team work as it helps towards growth of the team and project. I think decision making process can be solved through utilizing knowledge of individual team members.
