Knowledge as Possession

Knowledge is singularly the most powerful tool for innovations and development in a given environment., it is due to knowledge that the current world has been able to realize a lot of technological improvement and innovation that has made life in this Gaia to be very simple and enjoyable. Therefore, I strongly believe and agree with this school of thought that knowledge is indeed a great possession to humanity. All the notable innovation and invention that have been realized in different industries squarely depend on knowledge as the sole tool for a country’s growth and in the long run the sustainability of the nation.

 To fully evaluate this, it is ideal to look at different departments and personalities who have bene able to achieve a lot through their knowledge. There are many people in the world through their knowledge they have played a major role in making the world a better place. For instance, Einstein with his concept greatly revolutionized the world with his innovation. It is important to underscore that knowledge cannot in anyway be substituted with other elements. Some of the technological move that are attributed to great knowledge would be explicated below for better comprehension.

According to Li, Chen & Wang (2011) communication industry has seen a lot transformation from simple tools to more sophisticated ones due to great minds that saw this coming true. In the past it was very difficult for the information to be disseminated due to multiple barriers that existed.  However, due to invention of mobile phone, computers and other communication channels that are also regards as offline such as radio, newspaper, television and magazines, the information reaches its destination well as there is a clear channel that see this realizable. The aforementioned gadgets became feasible since some knowledgeable people sat somewhere and deliberated strategies of making the globe a small village by initiating productive and reliable means of communication that would suits the needs of divergent people from the globe (Jones, 2003).  All this progress is attributed to knowledge and therefore it is true to state that knowledge is a great possession. The reason to accentuate that it is a possession is that, great achievement is made through it. On the same breath, all this. progress is evident in the entire globe and they are as result of knowledge which cannot be substituted.

There are great personalities who exude this great attributes and made the world incredibly good for that case. Mike Zuckerberg has achieved this through his innovative approach of coming up with the social media platform namely Facebook (Sroufe & Melnyk, 2013).  This platform was recently introduced but notably it has attracted a great number. It has made life easier in that one can be able to share their message to the world with ease and further able to understand what is taking place in other parts of the world through interactive activities on the said platform (Akintoye, Goulding & Zawdie, 2012).

Pros and Cons of Knowledge as Possession

 It is currently estimated that approximately 100 million people use this forum to air out their issues. Apart from that, applications in the computer are practical in nature due to the brilliance of the Microsoft initiator who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the same known as Bill Gates. This CEO made it feasible for one to manipulate different functions of Computers with ease. The aforesaid person has invented some of the wonderful Microsoft that has made it possible for one to fully use their computer effectively since it is fully installed with their software which is of significant help to their task. This is a clear indication of how brilliance or what is preferably called knowledge generate a lot of possession for a person (Bookbinder, 2013). Was it not for their brilliance they would not have made some great contribution to the world.

Moreover, it is their knowledge that has generated a lot of riches for them. For instance, Bill Gates comes out as among the top 10 billionaires in the world. He was able to mint all this money through his brilliance in coming up with the software that has greatly aided different department in carrying out their activities well and further heighten the efficacy of the business (Wang, 2016).  Some of the greatest billionaires in the world made their riches from their own intelligence. This is also the same case with some notable people such as Buffet among other prolific figure in the world.

Rossignoli, Gatti & Agrifoglio (2016) underscore that there are a lot of people who inherent their riches from their parents but cannot be able to take good care of the same. Why do this people end up squandering the wealth they have acquired, yet they have life to live most importantly to pass the same button to the generation that is following them? All this is because they lack requisite knowledge and skills which is primary for the success of nay venture. Therefore, it is clearly evident that lack of knowledge is the genesis of failure and eventually resulting to paucity in the life of an individual.

Noble lessons can be derived from the great minds of all the time. For instance, let us examine the life of Plato and his ideological view that is still applicable in the school of institution till date. Plato in his logical reasoning exudes some great level of intelligence and competencies in his way of didactic reasoning which was systematic in nature (Zijm, 2016). His form of arguments shows that indeed he was very rich in terms of knowledge and he would defend his point to the latter.  According to Plato, provable facts were product of intelligence and he did encourage his students to defend their arguments if it does make sense to the latter. The field of science, politics, business education, health or rather medicine has greatly grown over centuries due to the applicable knowledge of this philosophers whose contributions are still playing a significant role to this mentioned sectors.

His law and ideologies are still applicable in the institutions of higher learning to date. It is ideal to state that when he Newton came up with his concept it was basically seen as simple item however, time has shown that it was not only meant to benefit him but the whole world as his concept is very relevant in the field of physics and other related courses (Bitzer, Hamann, Hall & Griffin-EL, 2015).   

 The role of practice in realizing knowledge is still important. Apart from Newton and his law of gravity and motion of inertia which are primarily practical. There are other noble personalities such as John Cockcroft and Ernest Walton who in 1932, were able to prove the mass energy in lithium after having bombarded its protons effectively using the practical approach that was relevant for the experiments (Liu & Goh, 2015).  Additionally, most of the basic formulae that are used by scholars or institutions of learning were derived through practical approaches by their proponents or scientists who invented them.

All the formulas that are used in mathematics or physics are as a result of practice. Archer (2007) asserts that Information technology has really played a fundamental role in the realization of productive fruits in the market. This is because technology has made it possible for a firm to produce a lot of goods effectively and most importantly heighten the quality of the products in that case. The purpose of this study basically is to examine critically the notable achievements of technology in different sectors and how it can fully be applied in other sectors so as to continue realizing the benefits for productivity and smooth running of business.  IT is best applied in institution of learning to best improve the efficacy of quality delivery to the students and ensures that every data is well kept. It is worth noting to see the way library department has been fully fitted with IT gadgets (Chew, Lee & Tang, 2011).  This makes it possible and simpler for the librarian to issue books with ease since all the records of different books have been fully captured in the system to allow issuance be smooth. The same incident is explicated in other departments such as health facilities and banking institutions. Therefore, the role of IT is explicable since it has really opened more opportunities for different business and further aided those business to satisfactorily carry out their business effectively with high quality delivery and dispensation of services which is very critical for any business in the market.

Higuchi and Troutt (2008) states that iinvention refers to the creation or introduction of a new product or new ideas for the first time. It involves coming up with new ideas and development of something new that contributes to the development and growth of a country. For instance, solar cell technology which coverts light energy into electricity. The solar panels are made in a special way in that it can convert light and energy from the sun into electric power. Solar energy is cheap and readily available, this invention is widely used all over, it can as well be used to recharge batteries which later be used at night or during cloudy season. Another invention is that of harnessing of wind power to generate electric energy. It was discovered by modern scientists, it involves the conversion of kinetic energy from the wind, it is cheap and readily available since the turbines can only be fixed and energy be produced. It can be used to power many homes and it is widely used in United States. In addition to that, generation of hydroelectric dams is another invention. Hydroelectric power creates its power by harnessing of water pressure which runs through the turbines to create electricity. This electricity is added to the electric grid and supplied to various home and markets.

It involves the power lines, power stations and transformers that are designed in such a way that they improve the energy industry (Lee & Meng, 2015).  The new innovation in the transformers is the good storage that improves reservation of energy which prevents unnecessary blackouts when the electric grid is undergoing some operations caused some electric hiccups. In addition to that, there is also a data security innovation which is made up of smart meters that provides the information about the electricity usage patterns for domestic use in the specific household. It provides the amount of energy used per day in both public and private industries, it provides protection and privacy from the third party such as the interference with the Information Technology and also the landlords who can tamper with the accurate energy usage (Wadhwa & Harper, 2015).

 Mobilization of relevant stakeholders is also another way of achieving growth in the energy industry before the implementation of any innovation. Benefits of any innovation should be clearly stated to the relevant stakeholders so as to prepare them to adapt and absorb them. This can earn benefits to innovators whereby they can use to bind contracts with potential private lead users across the world. Power energy is used worldwide and therefore when proper mobilization is done to relevant stakeholders it can earn the industry the benefit of sponsorship of new machineries to run that program (Oswald & Kleinemeier, 2016). 

However, unique ideas should be considered in any innovation, common and simple ideas should be avoided because it will only waste resources but earn the industry no profit. For instance, if it is in the electric sector, the best transformers should be created in order to reserve more energy and reduce unnecessary blackouts because electric power is used in almost all sectors such as, the health, domestic, communication and construction (Wesley & Barczak, 2010). The unique ideas in this sector will attract so many people hence great profits to the company, hence growth.

In addition to that, division of labor should be exerted in the energy industry in order to realize its growth. Every department should responsible for specific task, this will improve self-motivation because everyone will be self-driven. Self-motivation is very important because it reduces conflicts in the company, bot interpersonal and intrapersonal. Smooth running and growth of any sector depends upon the division of labor (Ijioui, Emmerich & Ceyp, 2008). Finally, motivation and positive treats to the stakeholders should be embraced because this helps in building positive spirit that brings about self-motivation. The stake holders involved should be treated in various ways such as, hanging out, having fun, participating in games and sports together, and being motivated with some money before the main salary, this will motivate the stakeholders to come up with even more new ideas that will bringabout the growth of company. For instance, the idea of the data security was brought about by a group of stakeholders, the data security innovation is widely embraced all over the world.

Supply chain management primarily attempts to evaluate the market risk that affect the overall market but not just a specific industry. This kind of risk is very difficult to avoid because it is unpredictable. It can only be mitigated by proper planning and allocation of resources before the implementation of any new innovation (Logistics Engineering Institution (CMES), 2015).  Implementation of any project usually go through various steps that starts with decision to evaluation. Each step should be handled with future benefits in mind, the product should be of good quality because innovation is all about improving. Some examples of risks include interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts, inflation in the job market, recessions and interest rate changes (Sironi, 2016).  The role of systematic risk management in successful implementation of innovation involves.  In addition to that, it helps in maintaining peace and stability to both internal and in external partners. Peace contributes to the development of any sector by reducing the time span of carrying out the relevant task and it promotes the quality of the end product. The end product of any innovation should be of quality because that is where we aim.

Issues/Problems with Google Managing Innovation

In addition to that, time factor is a vital tool to consider in any innovation. Energy industry growth and development will depend on the time frame that has been set for the accomplishment of that project. Power is used across the world and everyday new ideas are created by different persons, therefore whenever an innovation is implemented, it should take the shortest time possible. Time factor determines the market demand of any innovation or of any product. The shorter   time the innovation take, the higher the demand. More so, leaders should allocate targets for the innovation by setting up of performance appraisal contracts, planning and budgetary. These should be done with transparency and accountability in order to reduce mismanagement and embezzlement of funds (Dwivedi, 2016).  Targets set usually acts as a guideline to the improvisation performance and also to keep every stakeholder at toes.

This work has critically evaluated the relativism of comparison between the knowledge and practice and another school of thought that view it as possession in its totality. The report has attempted to provide succinct explanation aided with some notable examples of personalities which have achieved a lot through their knowledge. On the same breath, the primacy of Information Technology has been fully explicated and the role it has played in some of the notable industries.
