Affirmative actions take different forms, which include;

Affirmative action at the federal level comprises of;

States Affirmative Action
State affirmative action states that the states should not give preferential
treatment or discriminate against anyone because of race, sex, or ethnicity.
Twenty-eight states oblige affirmative actions plans in their apprenticeship
programs and public employment.
Examples of states which still apply affirmative action are; Florida, District of
Columbia, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Consent Decrees/ Voluntary Affirmative
Action
Consent affirmative actions are adopted unilaterally by companies.
Comprises of local and state programs authorizing action in employment.
Voluntary informative action are attained with better judicial approval
compared to contracting choices for minorities.
Johnson V. Transportation Agency is an example of consent decree affirmative
action.
