Utilisation of the SMART model

The SMART model will help me in the achievement of my goal in the best possible manner. The first element of the SMART model which deals with specificity will help me in the specification of my goals-like what I want to achieve, why I want to achieve that particular goal, and many other things. The second element of the SMART model which deals with the concept of measurableness will help me to measure what amount of my goal have been achieved by me over a particular period of time and how  much more effort I need to put in.

The third element of the SMART model which deals with the concept of achievability will help me in the process of stretching as well as challenging my goal within my ability to achieve it.The fourth element of the SMART model which deals with the concept of relevance will help me access how much of the goal selected by me is aligned to my objectives in life.

The fifth element of the SMART model which deals with the concept of time-boundedness will help me to set achievable targets within particular time frames for the achievement of my goal.Goal setting theories There are various goal setting theories which helps an individual or a group of persons in the effective achievement of their particular selected goals or objectives.

The goal setting theories which will be utilised by me are- Locke’s Goal setting theory and Herzberg’s Dual factor theory.

– A personal goal for your future, post your MBA studies.

Goal setting theory

Locke’s Goal setting theory and its utilisation by me Locke’s theory provides the various precepts following which an individual can individual can achieve his or her goals in the most effective manner  (Locke and Latham 2013).The theory considers “motivation” to be one of the most important factor in the achievement of any particular goal by an individual or a group of people  (Locke and Latham 2013).

The theory will be utilised by me for the effective achievement of my future goal.Using the precepts of the theory I will try to motivate myself as well as follow the strategies outlined by Locke for the effective achievement of my goals

Herzberg’s Dual factor theory

Precepts of the theory and its utilisation by me

The Dual factor theory of Herzberg states that there are certain factors called job satisfaction which increases the performance of an individual and there are certain other factors related to the process of job dissatisfaction which reduces the performance of an individual (Alshmemri, Shahwan-Akl and Maude 2017).This theory also considers motivation as one of the most important factors of the achievement of a particular goal (Alshmemri, Shahwan-Akl and Maude 2017).

Following the precepts of this theory I have decided to work in an industry where I am confident that the level of my job satisfaction will be very high.I would also like to make effective use of the concept of motivation for the achievement of my particular goal.

Coaching plan

Coaching plan- meaning and usefulness

An effective coaching plan can provide the individuals or groups with particular set of instructions which might hep them in the achievement of the particular goals set by them  (Church 2012).Many a time it is seen that the individuals or groups of people know the things that they want to achieve but they do not know how to achieve them  (Church 2012). It is here that the concept of the various coaching plans become very significant.

The model of the various coaching plans will be utilised by me for the effective achievement of my particular goal. The plan will provide me effective model as well  as set of strategies which will help me towards the achievement of my particular set of goals.

Some of the questions that I will ask myself What is the importance of the goal to me that I have set and want to achieve? How should I go about towards the achievement of that particular goal? What are the theories that I need to take into consideration for the effective achievement of my particular goal? What are the strategies that I need to take into consideration?

Things that might help me to achieve my goal Staying motivated and never losing sight of the goal.Working in a dedicated manner towards the achievement of my particular goal.Seeking professional assistance if there is a need.Finding my weak spots and working on them.

Following an effective coaching plan and dividing my entire goal into mini-goals which I will try to achieve within particular sets of time.Things that might hinder the achievement of my goal De-motivation.Lack of planning.Inadequate coaching plan.Use of inadequate theories.Improper attitude and taking things lightly.Lack of effective preparation.
