Project description: The Globex Corporation was founded in the year 2013 as a result of a merger of two large regional business associated, which are Riverina Precision Farming, and B T & Sons Farming Equipment. The head office of the Globex Corporation is located in the Riverina Region of NSW. The aim of the organization is to provide reliable and value for money agricultural solutions to the its clients. A similar project has been undertaken by the Globex which is the training and apprenticeship program by the high school students.

The corporation has an experience of over 30 years in the field of agricultural business. The TAHS program undertaken by Globex mainly intends to help the high schools students in gaining work experiences. This is a training program that aims in increasing the employment opportunities of the students in the field of farming solutions specialists. The organization has decided that a computer based system will be used for managing the entire TAHS program. For this program, collaboration between the schools, farming equipment manufacturers and the representatives of Globex is needed. The program will include the need for certain information such as name, year of school, residential area and the preferred skills. The computer reporting system that is to be developed will include the student details, apprentice tracking and skills requirements.  Since Virtucon is a long standing client of the Globex, Virtucon has been given the task of managing the project that deals with the development of a computer based system. The computer based system that is proposed should be able to manage and analyse even the complex information is an easier manner. This will make the computer based system that is being proposed, quite efficient and profitable for Globex. A project plan will be developed after the team set up so as to ensure that a planned approach of implementation of the project by Virtucon is followed. This is an important project for Globex as it aims in increasing the employment opportunities of the high school students.

The gives an idea of the associated stakeholders and the communication plan for each of the stakeholders associated with a project. The communication plan that is development will help in ensuring appropriate project reporting to all the associated stakeholders of the project so that the chance of stakeholders’ dissatisfaction is less.

This project has helped me in gaining an understanding of the different project management tools and techniques. Knowledge about appropriate project management tools is necessary in order to ensure that the project is being implemented according to the plan. This further increases the probability of success of the project. I have understood that having proper leadership skills is essential in order to ensure that the project team members are working as per the project specifications. An excellent leader necessarily posses appropriate communication skills to communicate the issues with the team members and to lead the project team towards successful completion of the project. Therefore, appropriate communication skill is an important consideration for the project management team.

It is therefore essential for a project manager to be a good project leader in order to effectively manage a project team. The project manager should posses an appropriate problem solving ability so that the major issues in a project can be solved in an appropriate manner. Apart from that, the project manager should be an excellent team builder so as to lead the team towards appropriate project completion. Apart from that it is essential for the project manager to maintain honesty and integrity in team management. Furthermore, a project manager is needed to be focused in order to achieve the project goals. These leadership qualities of the project help a project manager in successfully executing a project and further helps in ensuring that the project is implemented according to the given project specifications.

The project manager should have knowledge about the technique of appropriate project scheduling and budget estimation in a project. Apart from that, a project manager should have proper negotiating skills to control various aspects of a project. A project manager needed to have an idea of appropriate risk management process and risk control mechanism in successful management of the project.
