Progress Report For Family Relocation

Questions:

The purpose of this report is to accommodate a number of changes in the scenario of house relocation project. As per the initial conditions provided in the scenario, Jeff and Kelly need to relocate from Sunshine Coast to Perth due to a change in job of Jeff. Accordingly, they have to let go of the rental in Sunshine Coast and take a new rental apartment in Perth. As per the initial conditions, the schedule was developed and finalized regarding the entire relocation process. However, as per the latest update, there are certain constraints added including illness of Kelly, breakdown of luggage truck, unavailability of hotels in Perth after 27th January and others. As a result, the overall schedule has to be altered to suit the needs of Jeff and Kelly.

It can be seen that an additional $1500 has been added to the budget for compensating the hospital costs for Kelly. As a result of this additional cost, the total expenses exceed the total budget agreed for the purpose of the project.

There are four main adjustments made in the schedule. These adjustments are shown below.

Thus the changes include admission of Kelly to hospital, bed rest of Kelly in hospital, Jeff staying hotel till Kelly is fit and finally relocation to Perth on a different date than previously decided. These changes have been made in such a way that it does not affect the total duration of the project and Jeff and his children will be able to join their office and schools respectively.

I have learnt the handling and management of work packages within a project efficiently. I have learnt how to make changes in the overall project schedule and new tasks within the existing tasks such that they do not affect the project in any way. I have also gained problem solving abilities that will help in my future ventures as well.
