The Australian Sports commission shall be collaborating with the Active Healthy kids Australia and the University of South Australia to bring out an event that aims in promoting healthy lifestyle among children and young people (movementtomove.com.au, 2018). The event shall be organised in the city of Adelaide from 26th of November to 29th of November 2018. The following goals have been set in order to carry out this event.

Specific

The main goal of this event would be to motivate and educate children and young people to engage in physical activity and lead a healthy lifestyle. The event aims in bringing a movement that encourages the young generation around the globe into physical activity and eradicating unhealthy lifestyle.

The number of young attendees of the event will be measured in order to determine the success of the event. In addition to this, during the inauguration of the event, launch of Physical Activity Report Cards for children and youth from around 49 countries shall be determined (Bruce, 2015). The data from this global report card can be referred in order to accomplish the goal of the event.

Achievable

The goals of the event are achievable since people around the world, are becoming more and more conscious about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Realistic

In modern world, the advancement of technology have simplified the life of people to a great extent and this has affected upon the people’s engagement in physical activities. As a result of which a lot of health concerns such as obesity, diabetes, etc. are increasing among people. Henceforth, the main goal of the event is to drive younger generation towards leading a healthy lifestyle and engage more into physical activities (Giulianotti et al., 2015).

Time Bound

The event shall take place for a period of 4 days and in order to successfully organise the event three months’ time period shall be required.

Print media would be an excellent opportunity for informing the public about the event.

Hoardings and billboards in popular and busy public places would be an excellent way to inform the public regarding the event (Ramchandani, Coleman & Bingham, 2017).

Pamphlets shall be distributed in local markets, schools, universities in order to target young people regarding the event.

Since the event is organised by the Australian Sports Commission, the advertisements related to the event shall be published in magazines as well.

The advertisement campaign in print media platform will continue for a period of three months.

New media is a great initiative to promote the event on a global platform. Since its reach is dynamic in nature.

A promotional event shall be organised in Adelaide Arcade in order to inform the masses regarding the event (Seeck, & Rantanen, 2015).

Press conference shall be organised for the purpose of informing the public along with the media regarding the goals and objectives of the specific event.

According to Nicholson et al, (2015, p. 12), where media advisory can be alerted using the media towards a significant opportunity of media. Media plan helps to grab the entire attention of the world by influencing the global commerce. It is an effective way for a sports organisation to interact with the media. They are often known as the way of spreading awareness through the media to publish the news (Stewart et al., 2018).
  2. ii) My plan of media is Appropriate because they are supported by different elements such as media fact sheet, media guide, media release and media advisory.

b) i) According to Nicholson et al, (2015, p. 12), Facts are necessary for media coverage because reporters across the countries may be interested in campaigns and may needs to understand the message. In this context, fact sheet and media reports may be helpful in acquiring new information such as promotion of healthy activities. Australian sports commission is accountable for funding and establishment of the sports and its events. It is accountable for supporting a board dimension of program that are designed to develop sporting excellence and increase in the participation of sports activities by all Australians (Hutchins, Meese & Podkalicka, 2015).

ii) Australian sports commission fact sheet therefore is a method of communicate the necessary information. Children are also falling prey to such health issues as can be seen from the recent findings. The event will focus mainly on how children can develop effectively healthier lifestyles from a young age and move forward to become optimally healthy individuals as they attain adulthood.

The Australian sports commission has been the country’s premier governing body for all kinds of sports and athletics related activities. It is a significant sport governing body for the highest level of sports in the country. The commission is committed towards propagating sports activities among the youth of the country and promote sports across all the institutions around the country. Active healthy kids Australia is an organization that is continuously committed towards promoting healthier lifestyles among the kids in Australia and improving the health standards of the children of Australia. The organization has already taken part in large successful initiatives across the country and is already a recognized organization in the country. The University of South Australia is one of the largest educational institutions and education governing bodies in Australia. The University is known for long standing academic excellence. Moreover, the institution is significantly related to various youth sport bodies across the state. The collaboration of these three organization can effectively impact the positive development of better lifestyles among the kids of Australia. Since, the kids are the future youths of the country, introduction to healthy lifestyle at a young age can be beneficial for their individual growth as youths in the future.

Media guide is much important as this will provide the required information about the organizations that are involved in the event. This will help in the instant recognition of the organizations. Thus, this will add greater value to the event as people will get to know that significantly important organizations are responsible towards organizing the event (Huberty et al., 2016). The media will find greater enthusiasm to cover the event as all the organizations that are involved are large and important institutions and agencies.

The most important elements about the factsheet are the information regarding the Australian commission. The involvement of arguably the largest sports governing authority in the country will generate great amount of public and media interest (Slattery, 2015). Additionally, the involvement of the University will definitely attract the positive attention of the university students.

In celebration with the upcoming sports event in Adelaide, Australia, the event organised will be a highly enthusiastic event that will be now be organised by Australian sports Commission in collaboration with media and broadcast partners. This year the event is on promoting healthy lifestyle amongst children and young people with the spirit of sportsmanship and four game.

Participant can go forward on shredding shoulders with the different Olympic and popular players as well as sports icon of basketball skiing, tracking. Opening ceremonies of the event and multiple games will be organised at Adelaide stadium in Australia.

Registration of the events such as fun run, sport fest have started now. Marathon training stories will be set up for all the individuals taking part in the vents. Try out will be arranged for those who want to take part in the competitions with the star players in skiing, racing and football.

At night, the festivities will be continued at the place where an open-air fest will display various performance, by various singers and dancers. In this people of all ages will be welcomed for celebrating and take part in the event by joining the event organises at the Adelaide in promotion of health lifestyle,

All the proceeds of the event will be organised for the active people who can provide advantages to the Australian sports commission with supports of the programs.

  1. i) Media release is necessary because it is a direct and effective way for the sports organisation to interact with the media. This are the way to spread information about the media communication. In order to promote the event media release are necessary for people and young people (Filo, Lock & Karg, 2015). When the media has an interesting story, they will be able to attract the people through the media release.
  2. ii) A proper content and exciting media elements including an interesting story is that makes ,media release an important on for the customers.

a)  Media Advisory

The media conference will take place on the 24th of November at the University Campus of South Australia University. The chairman of the Australian sports authority, the secretary of the Australian sports authority, the chief coordinator of the event from Active Healthy Kids Australia, other delegates from Active Healthy Kids Australia and the head of the University of South Australia will be present. The conference will be scheduled from 10:00 Am to 2:00 Pm. The brief overview of the event will be provided. Slideshow will be organized prior to the press conference depicting the event plan and the past and present achievements of the collaborators. The event will be help in order to provide a preview to the event, generate media cooperation and contribute towards promoting the basic aim of the event.

b) Importance

Media advisory is a much needed exercise given the large scale organization of the event. Media coverage is a very important factor and a preview to the event is much required. The event will be held in order to generate media interest. Subsequently, this will help towards the more effective promotion of the event and its importance. Media advisory will form as a significant communication tool that will help towards getting the media involved in the matter (Nicholson et al., 2015). This will lead to the growth of the event.
