The main benefit that the company will gain from the redevelopment of the website will be the better marketing and the establishment of good networking. The existing website of the company has the lack of information. Moreover, the website of the company is not that realistic. The response time of the website is long and the website contains more pictures and less information. The users and the consumers can not directly connect with the organization instantly through the website. Through the development of the new website the organization can interact the consumer directly. Apart from that the organization can showcase their projects with m ore information. The response time of the website will be improved. This will increase the adoptability of the website. Moreover, the organization can promote the new projects through the website.

Through the redevelopment of the new website, the company can promote their brand and their projects in more accurate way. Moreover, this step will enhance their marketing. There are other steps the company has taken in order to enhance the marketing and the business growth. The redevelopment of the website is one of those steps regarding this matter and the discussion will focus on the different stages of the development.

The main objective of this project is to modify the existing website of the company. The company is already has a website. However, there are certain problems with that website. The website does not show important information regarding different projects of the PHL. Apart from that the presentation of the website is not realistic. The company is going to redevelop the website.

Benefits of the Website Redevelopment

The scope of the project includes redevelopment of the website in such a way that it fulfills all the requirements of the company. The company is taking this project in order to enhance its marketing and the relationship and connection with the consumers. However, this redevelopment project is one of the major steps for enhancement of the marketing and business growth. This project does not include other activities regarding this context. The scope of the project is about development of the website and the stages of life cycle regarding this development. The main objective of this project is to develop the website that will allow PHL to work more closely with the clients and deliver tailored solutions. In order to improve the marketing of the company the organization can take up many steps. Modification and improvisation of the website is one of the initiatives for enhancing the marketing of the company. However, there may be other processes include regarding this. The main objective of this paper does not include the process of enhancing the marketing of the PHL, but the development of the website. However, the reason for this development can be understood by the background of the work.

The scope of the project includes redevelopment of the existing website of PHL. The scope includes the brief discussion about the background of this decision by PHL along with explaining all the steps and the stages involved in this redevelopment phase (Bayona, Saboya and Bustamante 2018). The significance of the deliverables and the agreement over the requirements and its importance has also been discussed in the scope.

The work requirement includes all the phases of the development of the project. The project is about the redevelopment of the existing website. The redevelopment of the website includes all the stages in the life cycle of the website development. The development of the project is outsourced by PHL as the organization has no internal IT department. The contractor or the service providing vendor is needed to be ensured that PHL can supply enough resources needed for the development of the website. The resource is an important thing for the delivery of the successful outcome.

Apart from that following all the stages of life cycle for the development of the project is important. The first stage of the development is planning of the project. In the planning phase, the contractor will produce detailed project planning, along with implementation plan, testing plan, designing plan, training plan and transition plan. The inclusion of the work break down structure is also included in the documentation. The clarity of the requirement is gained in this stage. In order to do that the contractor can arrange several meetings with the PHL. The clarity in the requirement will help to mitigate the possibility of the scope creep in the development of the website. The presence of the scope creep in the middle of the development of the project will delay the outcome of the project along with that it can also increase the cost of the project.

Scope of the Project

The designing phase will include the detailed plan and the requirement for developing the website. The design will be based on the requirements gathered by the contractor and it will be approved by the PHL.

The coding phase comes next to the designing phase. In the coding phase, the contractor will code for the implementation of the website. The coding will help o redesign the website maintaining the relevance of the content of the website. The newly generated functions are tested by the contractor iLab. The testing is done with the limited data released. The issues are identified in the limited testing and those issues are reported to PHL for the review and approval. The implementation and the design phase needs the regular meetings with the PHL and providing the organization a daily status update.

The conversion phase of the projects needs to check the documents and the requirement files to be checked by PHL. The project requirement checks list is needed to be reviewed by the contractor so that the contractor can be assured that all the requirements in the project is meeting the scope.

Another important part of the project development is managing the tasks for the development of the project (Ruzza et al. 2017). There are certain risks associated with the development of the project. The risks associated with the each modules of the project can be identified from the work break down structure of the project.

Managing the finance for the development of the website is another crucial factor. In this case, a budget is estimated for each of the phases involved.

All the deliverables are sent to the chief marketing officer of PHL. He is responsible for receiving all the deliverables from the contractor. The contractor can start the work for any module only after getting the approval from the chief marketing officer of the company. On the other way round it can be said that the chief marketing officer will be working as the project manager in this case, as he task is to ensure that the progress of the project is going according to the plan.

At the closing step of the project the contractor is need to provide the project closing report along with the requirement checklists  to the chief marketing officer (Snyder and Dionisio 2017). On the basis of various factors the chief marketing officer will approve the closing of the project. Otherwise he will ask the contractor to improvise or modify certain parts of the project according to the requirements. With the agreement over the closing of the project it can be assured that the contractor has delivered the project to PHL meeting all the requirements of the deliverables.

Stages of the Website Development Lifecycle

The maintenance of the redeveloped website is the mutual responsibility of the contractor of the outsources company and PHL.  In order to develop the project , the outsourcing company has indulged an project management team. The team leader of that project management team ha sthe responsibility to communicate with the CMO of  PHL who is responsible for review of the project and the deliverables.

The deliverables are the important thing for this project. Understandings of the requirements are reflected on the deliverables. The deliverable is needed to be accepted by CMO of PHL. The making of deliverables is the responsibility of the contractor of the project. Checklists are used to analyze the fulfillment of the requirements. The understanding and the agreement over deliverables are the important things (Eastham et al. 2014). The meeting over the understanding of the requirements between the contractor and the management of PHL will help to bring the clarity in the requirements. The clarity in the requirements will mitigate the scope creep in the project. The scope creep defines sudden changes in the development of the project. In order to bring the clarity in the requirement both parties are needed to be aware about the process of the requirement gathering.

The project is being outsources by PHL to the third party technical company. In this case, PHL is the client. The client should specify the requirements to the third party vendor. In this case, the client party needs to be clear about the objective of the redesigning of the existing website. In this case, the selection of the requirement can be done through the several internal discussions in the organization. In case, if the members in the management of the organization do not agree over a certain set of requirements, the organization can not specifically set the requirements for the third party vendor.

The outsourcing company who will be handling the project can management the requirements through making of the checklists. After receiving the requirement lists from the client, the third party vendor company can arrange several meetings with PHL. After clearing the doubts the outsourcing company can precede the work. The list of deliverables is made by the contractor based on the requirements. The list of deliverables is sent to the CMO of the PHL. CMO of PHL is responsible for the review of the deliverables. The CMO will check the deliverables. In case, if there is any problem or modification is needed to be made CMO will instruct the contractor to make the modification. After getting approval from the CMO of the PHL regarding the list of deliverables, the contractor will proceed with the designing phase of the project.

The authorization to accept any document regarding this project is the responsibility of the chief marketing manager of PHL.

The contractor named below verifies that the terms of this Statement of Work are acceptable. The parties hereto are each acting with proper authority by their respective companies.
