We should not depend completely on the technology. But with the help of IOT, many organizations have improved their business strategy. The main part or the important parts in IOT architecture is the IOT network. IOT network should be highly secure and with latest trends of security approaches to prevent the eavesdropping, illegal access of the user’s data etc. Some Hackers group or Illegal activists may try to break the IOT security and causes harm to the data without permission (Internet of Things (IoT) History).

There should be new and upgrade tools and processes which are used for the access of the information in real time. These new tools come with better secure frame works which are also implemented in the upgrades. This shows the need for the constant upgrade of our systems.  We can have the smart life with the help of IOT in every aspect like smart cities, smart homes, and smart voice assistant.

To make IOT secure and safe, advanced Encryption and Decryption methods should be used.  The objectives of this research is to analyze the use of Business Intelligence in IOT industries.

IoT system comprises four components: connectivity, sensor, data processing, and a user interface (Gubbi, Buyya, Marusic, & Palaniswami, 2013). This report will mainly discuss the use of IOT in business. In the market for developing technology, IoT services linked with the company helps to earn more worth for businesses. IoT has connected business and people in a significant way. Literature Review:

In the past years, IOT was not famous like it is nowadays. IOT has been used only by the large companies’ folks. According to the IBSG (Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group), the IOT was born in between 2088 and 2009 when at some points, all the things or objects were connected to the outside world with the help of Internet than people (Tozzi, 2016, May 26). Since then, the innovation in IOT increase traditionally from connected device to any other devices with the power supply and internet connectivity.

How to write the annotation

Many manufacturers have created their own version of Internet of Things, which is called as IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things), which mainly used in monitoring the power supply of factories, or capture data for quality management and quality control and also helps organization to take effective measures to increases the profit. It is states that by 2027, more than $1 trillion revenue will be generated with IOT according to the Navigant (Tozzi, 2016, May 26).

There were many companies which were unaware of the benefits offered by IOT and IIOT services. If we fail to take the most of the advantages from the technology services, we will be the outdated in this competitive market.

IOT has been popular in the recent years to a massive scale. The IOT is no longer the inter-network connected devices, but nowadays, it expands into the TVs to thermostats to cars, to wearable devices.

Figure 1: IoT cloud solutions (How IoT cloud solutions connect you to the world. 2015, December 03).)

Key Factors of IOT:

The main differences between modern IOT with the past years since 2000s. There are several key factors: —

(1) expansion of networking capabilities

(2) large-scale data analysis tools

(3) available data storage

(4) data security methods

Cloud has significantly contributed to the success of IoT (Rahul, 2015, December 28). The availability of cheap, high affordable and available cloud infrastructure makes easy to remove loads from the IOT devices to Cloud servers. In shorts, IOT can be cheaper, clever and faster.

With the help of Clouds, smart thermostat has to upload basic reading to the cloud and on the other end, it displays on your mobile application or web browser. And you can also send the instructions through the cloud to manage the home’s temperature (Rahul, 2015, December 28). Thermostat does not have to store the data in itself.

IOT challenges:

Though IOT offers many benefits, there were challenges while using IOT in a huge scale. One is the lack of acceptance of universal standards in IOT technology. There were no universal accepted standards for using IOT services. The only available standards in IOT is the “AllJoyn framework”.

With the increased in the inter connected devices, more the traffic need to handle in the clouds, slower the process. It can also move into the new IT infrastructure, but it is slow and costlier process. Lack of Infinite Bandwidth also plays an role in slower down the IOT process.

Literature Review

Power is a problem, too. Since the IOT manages the large number of devices spread over a wide infrastructure, permanent power sources is required for realizing IOT’s full potential to make this system work over a long period of time. But this technologies in the power will takes time before batteries in IOT device last for many years.

Requirements for IOT projects:

(1) Sensors

(2) Cloud infrastructure

(3) User interface Design

(4) High Bandwidth connectivity

(5) Data analysis tools

The above are the main parts with which the IOT project will accomplish. With the IOT, it is estimated that within 5 years, more than 50 billion devices will be connected with each other (Rahul, 2015, December 28)). The prerequisite of IOT are many but main three categories; —

(1) intelligence

(2) sensing and

(3) communication

Intelligence and Sensing: —

Wireless network plays a vital role in IOT infrastructure. Sensors will collect data from world around us and transmit the data to the cloud where it is analyzed and utilized and from there, data is properly visualized in the web or mobile applications (Camhi, 2015, November 06). And user can control the sensors’ operation from any location with the internet connectivity. Sensors also must have power use efficiency. The smart connected device will be idle for many times. In shorts, 90% of times the device will not need power for relaying data.

Sensors requires the intelligence hardware which can use low power technology or ultra-low power sleep mode capability. Many companies are already manufacturing the smart device with these facilities to save the power outage in the smart devices.

Smart Communication:

IOT should have smart communication mechanism to transfer data from one device to another. Smart device like ZIGBEE is used to exchange data between devices less power consuming (How IoT cloud solutions connect you to the world, 2015, December 03).

High Bandwidth internet connectivity is also required when large number of devices are connected with each other in the IOT infrastructure. With the network drops, the data can be corrupted which will result in corrupt analysis.

WIFI: –

WIFI is one of the most important components for the IOT. It comes in handy while transferring high data transmissions due to its reliability. Good examples used on a daily bases by many users would be in different applications for the sharing of audio, video or remote device controlling (Ray, n.d).

Current technique in IOT:

Key Factors of IOT

(1) Wireless Technology

There are many wireless technologies use in IOT out of which the 5 main technologies are:–  ZIGBEE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and BLE and  WIMAX (Ray, n.d).

Wi-Fi use Radio waves to communicate between 2 devices. Its common use it mainly for the connection of one or more devices to the internet via an internet router. Its uses are not limited since it can also be used for the connection of two hardware accessories or components. Basically, Wi-Fi can be defined as a local wireless network that runs on the 802.11 standards set forth by the IEEE (Ray, n.d).

Bluetooth and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) is used to communicate between the devices at a short distance. This technology has been accepted by many speaker’s system. Bluetooth Low Energy is used in many devices like fitness trackers, speakers and smart watches which is used to transfer data wirelessly (Camhi, 2015, November 06).

(2) IoT Operating Systems: –

Operating systems like Windows and IOS were not designed to sue for IOT technologies. This OS consumes too power and need processers which are fast in speed and lack in some features like real time information’s. So, for IoTs system, a wide range of IoT of has been developed to get the basic IoT features and benefits.

Discussion

This report tends to extensively discuss the business intelligence implementation in relation to the internet of things. Business is being in connected with IoT, and this is benefiting the market to no small extent.

Implementation of this new technology has significantly helped businesses cope with the changes in the market and gave most of the businesses a competitive advantage over their competitors within the given market (Fuller, 2018, August 31). Business Intelligence is the process of analyzing data and presenting the information to managers and organizations to help them take future Business decisions that have been strategically analyzed and approved by the analysis of all the available information.

Business growth is expected to rise with the integration of IoT. It has been estimated that over 75 billion devices will be interconnected by 2025.

Changes in the new technology has introduced different perspective of the business that has introduced new opportunities. The advancements in the sector have impacted the cost of this technology as well as the simplicity of implementation for the businesses.

The compatibility of this technology has made it possible for different businesses in different sectors to implement it. For example, hotels, restaurants, clubs among other hospitality sector businesses have managed to implement the technology and this has impacted their market tremendously. This technology Physical Web | (IoT) | Apps has a wide range of impact on the business, it changes the image of the restaurant, manages to upgrade the experience received by the customers among other features. The technology has managed to integrate the business appearance and customer reations perfectly well and easily (What is internet of things (IoT)?).

The following are the ways in which IOT serves us better:–

Business Revenue Growth: the increased opportunities as a result of IoT implementation has led to the increase in the economic growth of the businesses which in return has led to the revenue increase in the process. this has seen the revenue patterns increase as the technology gets implemented in different businesses.

Strategic Decision-Making: With the gathered data and the processed information, decision making has been significantly affected in the managerial sector of the company. The decision-making process is strategic due to the available information.

Reduction in costs of Components: As the technology advances the cost of IOT component has dropped hence making the systems more affordable. This has led to more businesses implementing IOT due to its affordability.

Safety and Security: implementation of cameras, sensors or the smart looks within the systems have improved the physical security of the businesses and managed to reduce the threat level within the workplace.

Requirements for IOT projects

Efficient Process: IoT devices will help to track the customer’s requirements in real time while decreasing the cost of operation.

With the implementation of IoT, new business opportunities opened up for more people. It has also helped companies to earn benefit from new services and models proposed that have been integrated with the new technologies (Evans, 2018, May 31). IoT-driven innovative ideas for building strong cases for an organization decreases the time required for marketing and increases investment on returns. IoT has the potential to convert the way business, and consumers approach the IoT world beyond connectivity.

Enhanced Asset Utilization

IoT improves tracking of assets using sensors and connectivity, and this helps the organization from insights in real-time (Evans, 2018, May 31). This helps the organization to encounter the issues related to assets and to generate measures to order to improve asset utilization.

Efficient Processes

Business connected with other activity on the internet leads to smart business with real-time operational while decreasing the cost of operation. The information gathered supply chain; logistics network helps to reduce supply time for marketing and downtime for maintenance (Evans, 2018, May 31).

Enhanced Security and Safety

An IoT service provides video cameras and sensors in the workplace to ensure the safety of equipment and protect them from physical threats (How IoT Will Impact Business). IoT coordinates numerous teams to determine issues quickly.

2.5 Increase Productivity

Productivity is an essential part of every organization. As this plays the position in the prosperity of any company. IoT offers instruction for staffs, develop labor effectiveness, and lessen inequality of skills while escalating productivity of the organization (Rolik, Telenyk, & Zharikov, 2017).

Applications of IOT:

Home Automation: — IoT can be used to remotely control and operate your home equipment. It can be also used to monitor and control either locally or remotely to the home ‘s status with the application in your mobile phones (Sannapureddy, 2015, February 25).

Industrial Automation: — Many sensors and robots are used to make the work faster and will consume less time and quality works. We can automate manufacturing processes remotely.

Health monitoring; — Various types of sensors will collect data from patient’s body and guide the doctor for better decision. The patterns of heart rate, pulse, digestive system, and blood pressure can be collected with the help of this sensors.

Clean Environment: – IOT sensors will measure the humidity in the environment and will send the data to the government to take necessary actions. Pollution can be easily controlled by the ability of measuring and monitoring the emissions that contribute to both soil and air pollution.

Intelligence and Sensing

Architecture of IOT:

There are 3 main stages in IOT architecture:

Stage 1:– It include sensors, (wired or wireless) which will collect the data around us and turns it into useful data.

Stage 2:– It include Gateway. The data collected from sensors are in analogy from. That data need to processed and formatted properly to read information into it.

Stage 3:– It include Data centre or Cloud. Data is stored in the data centre or Cloud where data are utilized and monitored.

Drawbacks of IOT:

With the advancement in the technology, IOT also have some drawbacks.

All the data are uploaded into the server, so the main question arises of security and protection of the data.

Implementation of IOT in the organization leads to the loss of jobs of many unskilled labourers who were not update with the latest technology, and the ratio of the jobless workers increases with the increases in the technology adaption in the organization (Sannapureddy, 2015, February 25).

Sometimes the architecture of IOT becomes very complex to install. And simultaneously the cost of the device also increases.

With the week security in the IOT infrastructure, the hackers can stole our data and can control our smart home, offices and various smart devices.

Our lives will become more dependent on the technology.

 Recommendation

The companies incorporate IoT in their organization will feel the complexity in order operating it. As this is the complex system, there are chances of failure. The entire data are communicated over the internet; this sometimes questions the privacy (Kelly, Suryadevara, & Mukhopadhyay, 2013). To some extent, this will lead to loss of jobs for those who are not used to technologies. This is the problems that the organization may face while implementing the IoT in the business.

 Conclusion

From the above report, it can be concluded that in spite of having so many benefits of IOT, there are some significant drawbacks. These drawbacks are stopping some of the organization from adopting IoT in their organization.  Come 2020, predictions by different research bodies shows that the investment into IOT b both the government and the public will be more than $6 trillion  (Sannapureddy, 2015, February 25).

Also, the IoT will emerges from the smart fringes or home assistant to the smart watches also.
