The content of the research is based on the feasibility of sources and accessibility to those, because the information and data found there will be required for managing the content research design appropriately (Hearn, Miller and Fletcher 2013). Among the three different types of research designs including the exploratory, explanatory and descriptive research designs, the descriptive research design is considered as the most suitable design because of its extensive features such as ability to fill the missing gaps in the research and demonstrating every detail with the accumulation of accurate data and information. The descriptive design of research focused on the ‘what’ and ‘how’ concepts rather than the ‘why’, which made it more predictable when compared to exploratory and explanatory research designs (Puhl et al. 2013). On the other hand, the secondary data will be collected through assessment and evaluation of secondary sources such as journals, articles, internet websites that contain information and data about the ways in which childhood obesity is represented in the media and implications of media messages aimed at young people.

The validity and reliability of research shall be maintained by ensuring that the research articles and documents are authenticated and reliable to draw in accurate data and information (Zikmund et al. 2013). Few limitations that might be faced include time and cost constraints and even sometimes accurate data and information could not be found. The implications of media messages helped in representing the childhood obesity in the media and made sure that the information about healthier choices are provided to the young people. This would not only make them cautious about choosing the right food consumption habits, but could even make them overcome the health problems like obesity (Bernard 2017). Obesity is mainly caused due to higher fatty foods consumption and so it will be important for spreading the right messages through social media, televisions and newspapers for raising public awareness and make them aware of the things to be prevented from consumption and maintain a healthy life in the future.

The media impact is huge and positive, because it has not only grabbed the attention of young people, but also has made them cautious while making the healthiest choice and decision to consume food that is good for them. The health and social care workers could promote visual campaigns and manage promotions to ensure that the right messages are delivered to the young people and chances of obesity are prevented (Fowler Jr 2013).

Interpretation- From the responses, it is clear that most of the respondents provided positive responses and they believe that the advertisements have created a change in their mindset and they have become aware of the ill effects of obesity. This will make them choose healthier options and remain healthy and safe by making sure that they make good choices about food consumption.

  1. Do you think that the heath promotion campaigns managed through social media involvement are effective for raising awareness among people regarding obesity and unhealthy consuming habits

Interpretation- Yes, it is true that the health promotion campaigns have been facilitated with the use of social media platforms, which has grabbed the attention of more people and raised health awareness. Due to this, most of the young individuals have come to know the causes of obesity and made sure to avoid unhealthy foods and lead a healthier lifestyle in the days to come (Lindlof and Taylor 2017).

From the research, it has been understood that the main focus is on the evaluation of various approaches needed to address childhood obesity in the media and aiming at young people to choose healthier options for leading a healthy and safe life. From the research, the research has created scopes for the creation of a dissertation and will conduct the research in a much more detailed manner for facilitating the accomplishment of research goals and objectives with much convenience (Bowling 2014). The video messages transferred through media will influence the attitudes and behaviors of young people as well as make them understand about the problems of obesity, its consequences, the individuals within the society responsible for addressing the problem along with necessary support measures and prevention policies to prevent obesity during childhood days. The messages about childhood obesity will not only highlight the health consequences, but can even make the parents aware of making healthier choices and avoid health issues anyhow (Brannen 2017).

Research design and philosophy

There are many policies, procedures that are endorsed by medical experts by considering those as effective strategies to reduce the obesity. One of the most suitable strategies is by implementing proper sugar sweetened beverage tax to make sure that the prices become higher and young individuals purchase these kinds of products in lesser numbers (Palinkas et al. 2015). For example, the Strong4Life video messages featured stories of young children and presented facts regarding obesity to attract the attention of viewers and portray the harmful effects that the children may experience in the future.  The young people, when exposed to food advertising and marketing have influenced the food choices and consumption habits. The food commercials have also influenced the preferences of young people for food consumption and even contributed to awareness and knowledge among them about the health related benefits of healthy food consumption. The discussions included the various research approaches, methods and philosophies followed as well. The collection of data is done with the use of both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. The analysis of data has been done by representing the data and information on excel sheet with the presentation of graphs and tables for easily understandable by the researcher (Cleary, Horsfall and Hayter 2014). The validity and reliability will be maintained through assessment of authenticated articles, documents, journals and internet websites required to maintain the authenticity and effectiveness of the research conduction too.
