Max Lionel Reality has a number of policies implemented within the organization, including Work Health and Safety Policy, anti-discriminatory policy and procurement policies and procedures, According to, WHS policy, the organization is responsible for providing a safe and healthy working place to their employees, clients etc. The purpose of this policy is to conduct risk assessments and implement proper strategies. These strategies should comply with all the standard rules and regulations, and the employees must know about these measures. The company is dedicated to observe this policy within the organization and maintain a safe environment within the workplace. As per, anti-discriminatory policies of MLR ensures that the management of the organization will not practice any discriminatory practice within the organization.  The employees, clients of the firm etc. will not be discriminated on the basis their sex, age, race, political and religious beliefs etc.  The managers and the employees of the organization is responsible for maintaining the policy within the workplace. As per, the procurement policies, the firm must acquire their resources fairly and transparently according to their organizational needs. The procurement procedures of the firm is governed by the principles of ethics, non-discrimination, value for money, and risk management and responsible financial management. As per, the procurement process is thought first, and a competitive process is carried out in open to achieve the best value for money and avoid any conflict of interest.  Tendering process is also used by the company to procure the materials.

Location: Commercial Office of Max Lionel Realty

The WHS incident occurred at the Commercial office of Max Lionel Realty where a client had fallen from the staircase while running towards the emergency gate. The client has broken her wrist after falling from the staircase. The exit door was blocked by paper boxes and the client is hurried thus she decided to go through the emergency door but this incident occurred to her. One of the agents rescue the client and managed to open the exit gate. In spite of the seriousness of the incident, the agent criticizes the women heels and this makes the women humiliated. The women was taken to the Royal Women’s Hospital through ambulance and due her mental condition she blamed and threatened Max Lionel Realty for the injuries. After that another agent notice an oily substance having a strange odor on the staircase and by this the women had fallen from the staircase. This agent has provided a brief details of the incident to the Commercial Realty Manager of MLR. After that the HR manager contacted to the clients lawyer and also the Office of Human Rights Department and now the organization main target is to reduce the number of accidents by providing proper services.

Incident report

As a part of the organization, I would suggest the management team to take a good care on the office premises so that no WHS accident will take place in future. The organization should maintain a proper procedure so that the exit gate does not block and the clients can move freely without having an accident. The accident not only reduces the company reputation but also make a bad impression on the client.

The incident investigated by the General Manager of Max Lionel Realty although the Commercial Manager responsibility to investigate the incident. The incident had taken place due to oil failure over the stairwell and for this proper caring should be needed for the management staff so that it does not take place in the future.

  1. RISK ASSESSMENT

The likelihood of the risk is high as anyone can slip from the staircase and heavy injuries may take place by the accident (Mangharam, Moorin, & Straker, 2016).

The severity of outcome:

The outcome of the accident is high as anyone can get head injuries or any type of major injuries by this accident (Van Eerd et al., 2018).

Level of risk:

The risk of this accident is also high as the oil fallen in the staircase can injured many person and the employees present in the organizations also affected by this incident.

Outcome: Hospitalized

WHS committee / staff meeting: The actions taken by the organization is good though some changes have to done so that such kind of incident will not happened in the future.

The risk, in this case, is the oily substance on the stairwell of Max Lionel Realty, on which the client slipped and broke her wrist. The possible impact of this risk, the client can suffer physical and mental trauma, and the company can face legal complications. Another possible impact is that it can cause loss of income due to this risk. The reputation of the company can be ruined due to this incident.                

The likelihood of the risk is high, as anyone can slip on the oily substance and injures themselves. The person may not focus on what is on the stairwell and fall. Impact of risk:

The impact of this risk is high, as the injured person can suffer from physical and mental trauma. The person can feel humiliated because of this incident. They can lose their income, and they can sue the organization. Due to this, the company can lose their reputation in the market. It can lead to serious health hazards and violation of the Workplace Health and Safety Rules and regulations in the workplace.        

The preventative actions which can be implemented by the organization are as follows:

  • Identification and removing  of potential risks  
  • Following the instructions properly
  • Proper training should be provided to the employees to avoid these incidents
  • Stairwells must be provided with supports to prevent the fall.
  • The stairwells must be kept clean, well lit and free from unwanted objects

The following steps must be taken to minimize the impact of the risk, in case of its occurrence are as follows:

  • Proactive action to implement the standards and updating the risk register of the company
  • Consultation with the agents to conduct WHS meetings and regularly assess the potential risks of the organization
